<p style="max-width: 100%;">El chip NFC (<em style="max-width: 100%;">Near Field Communications</em>) es capaz de hacer muchas cosas cuando se abre al completo, sólo hace falta ver los ejemplos que nos da en algunos terminales <a href="https://www.xataka.com/basics/como-activar-y-desactivar-el-nfc-en-tu-movil" style="color: rgb(65, 110, 210); max-width: 100%; text-decoration: underline;">que ejecutan Android</a>. Apple, por su lado, ha incluido NFC en sus iPhone y Apple Watch pero limitando sus funciones a los pagos de Apple Pay y en favor de nuestra seguridad.</p>
<p style="max-width: 100%;">Pero esto, según lo que dicen <a href="https://www.theinformation.com/articles/apple-to-expand-secure-wireless-chip-beyond-payments" style="color: rgb(65, 110, 210); max-width: 100%; text-decoration: underline;">en The Information</a> y reflejan <a href="https://appleinsider.com/articles/18/05/25/apple-to-reportedly-unlock-iphone-nfc-chip-capabilities-in-june" style="color: rgb(65, 110, 210); max-width: 100%; text-decoration: underline;">en AppleInsider</a>, podría cambiar en iOS 12. Apple podría aprovechar esta actualización de iOS para <strong style="max-width: 100%;">liberar algunas funciones más del NFC</strong> más allá de lo que se hizo <a href="https://www.applesfera.com/general/otra-novedad-de-la-wwdc17-apple-abre-el-nfc-del-iphone-7-y-7-plus-a-los-desarrolladores" style="color: rgb(65, 110, 210); max-width: 100%; text-decoration: underline;">con iOS 11</a>, haciendo que el iPhone sea capaz de abrir puertas y autenticarse en sistemas de transporte público.

<p style="max-width: 100%;">Son funciones que se utilizan cada vez más en otros móviles, así que no es de extrañar que Apple haya decidido relajar un poco las limitaciones de su chip NFC y así poder hacer el trabajo más fácil a todos los desarrolladores. Los hoteles y los servicios de transporte agradecerán esto, sin duda: imagínate pudiendo hacer el <em style="max-width: 100%;">check-in</em> en un hotel sin tener que pasar por recepción, sólo a través de la puerta, y pudiendo <strong style="max-width: 100%;">abrir la puerta de tu habitación acercando el iPhone</strong> o el Apple Watch al cerrojo.</p>
<p style="max-width: 100%;">Esto también puede reflejarse en otros campos más allá de hoteles: podríamos verlo implementado en las entradas de los gimnasios, en cines y teatros, en conciertos o incluso en aeropuertos. Por lo visto esto <strong style="max-width: 100%;">ya se está probando en las mismas oficinas del Apple Park</strong>, reducido sólo a algunos empleados. Las compañías de transporte público también llevan pidiendo a Apple más libertad para integrar sus sistemas con el NFC del iPhone desde 2014.</p>
<p style="max-width: 100%;">Si esto termina siendo cierto, deberíamos verlo en algún momento de la keynote del <a href="https://www.applesfera.com/general/no-queda-nada-apple-manda-las-invitaciones-de-prensa-para-la-wwdc-2018" style="color: rgb(65, 110, 210); max-width: 100%; text-decoration: underline;">próximo 4 de junio</a>.
